Entry requirements

A 2:2 honours degree (or above) in any subject area or international equivalent. Degree certificates or transcripts will be required when submitting the application. Those with a 2:2 will also need to submit a personal statement.

Mental health is a global issue. Most of us have either known someone with mental health struggles or we have faced them ourselves. Everyone is different, so both diagnosis and treatment are complex. In recent years, people are feeling more empowered to talk about mental health which has raised awareness and put funding into research.

Societies are now starting to unpick the cultural issues surrounding mental health taboo and stereotypes. This course draws together the disciplines of psychology and neuroscience, using both to help us understand mental health.

This course will suit those with an interest in understanding the complexities of mental health and a desire to help find solutions and treatment.

Knowledge gained from the course will benefit you if you are looking to become a graduate research worker or wish to go into further education at PHD level. Your career

This course will develop your understanding of both psychology and neuroscience and their connection to mental health. It will give you the opportunity to develop a career in several sectors. Former students have gone on to work for NHS Trusts and Hospitals, child and adolescent mental health, various universities and the Department of Health. Their roles include Mental Health Worker, Community Care Worker, Special Education Needs Teacher, Occupational Therapist and Counsellor.
